Psychology First Aid

What is psychology first aid?

There are some experiences and situations are more difficult for you to deal with.

Examples:  the discovery of terminal illness, a car accident,

losing a loved one or home, extreme violence, natural disasters and ongoing armed conflict.

When an experience is beyond your ability to cope, the severity of the event and the lack of support around you.

Those things can lead to a small or large scale psychological crisis.

So what can you do?

You can seek help, such as you need a band-aid when you cut your hand.

Psychological First Aid won’t cure all the pain of pandemic,

but it can help us generate and maintain the hope that everything will be okay.

We can overcome this hard time.

“I understand that seeking psychological first aid can be difficult,

but it’s important to remember that it’s okay to ask for help when you need it.

There are people who care and want to support you through this tough time.”

“And remember you are more resilient than you think.”
